Ok, I’ve had it, completely… Just back from a week vacation, and shit has hit the fan. Sometimes I feel I’m in control of a kindergarten-class instead of a group of (supposedly) mature PDSL officers. I feel along with Hechicero, who thinks and acts on the same issues I do, it’s just that I feel respect for each other in PDSL is gone.
I took it upon myself to vacate my position for the better of PDSL, I’m caught in the crossfire I’ve dreaded for over 6 months, and now it’s time to pack my stuff and leave the boat before someone decides to drop a torpedo and hits the wrong boat. I’m not willing to sacrifice friendship(s) over something stupid as a difference in opinion. I cannot hold my position without jeopardizing at least one (1) friendship in the upcoming weeks. And I’m not willing to do that.
No I’m not leaving PDSL, cuz Hechicero and Nickie (and maybe Eddie as well) probably won’t let me go, so I offered an alternative to the commanders. I’ve volunteered to become an advisor, as we used to have for a long time in PDSL; independent yet not completely. I offered more or less to be “Internal affairs” on my own, looking at PDSL from a distance and reporting and advising on things that should or should not change.
I’m not going into full details yet, but I’m gonna be assisting the commanders in streamlining PDSL as a whole, not just clarifying the job-descriptions but also from the roots of PDSL up, after all PDSL is not just a top-down-organization, but also a bottom-up-organization. It’s not the commanders on the street that make the difference, and that is the point that seems lost in PDSL as well as communication.
Communication - now that’s an interesting point. We’ve been working with a closed structure for a long time, maybe too long. Lines of communication need to be open yet structured. Ofcourse it’s not ok to IM a commander directly as officer, but being able to contact a DC if you can’t get a hold of a Lt. or Capt. should be one of the possibilities. And if you feel the need of communicating skipping a certain chain, at least be so decent to notify the ones you’ve skipped that you contacted someone above. I don’t feel that this will disrupt the teams nor will it fail communication as a whole, as long as the above guideline of OPEN communication is followed…
Well I think I’ve typed enough for a post this time, but this will be continued….

I’ve finally made it passed level 500… To level 523 to be precise. On to the 550 Levels barrier…
