Who is to blame? What went wrong? The question will probably never be properly answered. Ok, Mr. Hagoromo has his own version of the truth, fact is that there has been a sense of hostility surrounding him ever since the S.S. issue. I have the feeling he never saw what I saw, he never understood what I understood. And up till this day he still doesn’t, given his tantrum he threw at me Saturday.

Who is Hechicero Blanco? He is asking himself this question, and whether he should choose for what he wants and likes or if he chooses for something that might not work at all…

A choice he feels is hard to make, an I can imagine completely. I had to make the same choice, and quite frankly, looking back on the decision, it was an obvious one. However the process took months for me. Doubting whether to stay or to go used to come once a week, in my last week it was every hour. At that point i needed to finally make a decision. Not just for my own sake, but for the sake of others as well. Others were suffering because I was suffering. Not physical, but emotional, and that’s neither good for me nor for anyone else. Any person who’s ever met me in a grumpy mood can confirm (if they lived to tell the tale, lol).

Ever since we moved off the ground, we never had a both beautiful as well as functional building. As agreed in previous senior-officers meeting, it’s time that other people get a chance. Mus has never built a PDSL station, let alone something functional (just kidding). But this time I think he managed to whip up something that is beyond imagination. An actual building that can be used, and looks good too!

See the attached pictures for yourself. Seeing is believing, believing is seeing…

Reversed Psychology

Drama Queen SignSome people really are doing my head in lately. When you tell them NOT to call you, they ring the phone off your hook, and when you ask them to call you, they never do :-(

And even in Second Life, when you ask them to contact you, they don’t respond to you until AFTER you log off, but when you set yourself to busy, it seems like veryone in SL is trying to get a hold of you…

I think this is a good example-case of reverse psychology in action. Just tell people to contact you asap, and they will never call you back. Ow, I wish that was true for some people.

I think By now, my SL Brother, Hechicero Blanco, Must think the same. When people SHOULD contact him, they don’t, and when he is busy or not in the mood, it seems like everyone is trying to get a hold of him. I imagine he’s getting upset, and since he is (was?) a PDSL Commander, he’s getting bugged even more. I know his past experience in similar -real life- situation, he handled well. But even though Linden Labs tries to tell you otherwise, Second Life is NOTHING like the real thing.

Case: GJ200801 Furries

Furries in Second Life™, what makes them so attractive? And I don’t mean like falling in love, but people tend to talk to them easier? What is it with furries that makes people smile, yet they would not want to dress up like them themselves? This month in my casebook; Furries, the SL phenomenon.

Furries

Generaal Joubert en profilFurries are people, either in real life or Second Life™ that dress up like animals; i.e.: I’m a fox in Second Life™. In real life I have no real fetishes other then Second Life itself, and you would never see me in an animal-outfit. However in Second Life™ there is some kind of comfort in looking at my fox(y) avatar.

Attractive

In second life there are actually 3 animal-camps:

  • The Neko’s, a growing “breed”. Neko is the Japanese word for “cat” or “feline” (cross between -usually- feline creature and a human; i.e. a boy/girl with cat like ears and a tail).
  • Furries, well, “us” (full animal Avatar; either dressed and/or walking upright or not).
  • The Humans, the vast majority in SL (including the robots and machine-like AV’s, since they are neither human nor animal).

Same goes for the general opinion;

  • (±29%) The ones that love the Neko’s and furries (the ones that usually ARE either Neko of Furry).
  • (±61%) The neutrals (respecting Neko and Furry as equal, not having a problem that they exist).
  • (±10%) The opposition (fighting furries and strongly, reject the idea, seeing being Neko or Furry as practicing bestiality or similar opinions).
